DAVIS, Gail B. Gail B. Davis, 90, of Springfield, passed away on December 30, 2017. She was born on July 30, 1927, in Marietta, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roy C. and Dora (Bennett) Britton. Gail was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Art Davis in 1990, her daughter, Lynette Davis in 1998, her son, Arthur Davis in 2007, grandson, Brett Mansfield in 2011, and her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Vera Britton. Gail graduated from Ohio University and was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority. In 1967, she joined the Northminster Presbyterian Church, where Gail remained a member. She spent her career teaching English and Social Studies beginning at South High School and finishing her career at Springfield/Clark County JVS after a total of 22 years. Gail is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Chuck Mansfield of Springfield, son, Todd A. Davis of Lucasville, four grandchildren: Amy, Cindy, Trent and Lakota; four great grandchildren: Brock, Gretchen, Lucy and Devin; and very special friend, Dick White. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. in the Northminster Presbyterian Church, 400 Villa Rd., Springfield, with Pastor Dwight McCormick officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
