I was deeply sad to learn today that Gary passed away. Who would have thunk a man with such orneriness would ever leave us? I loved him as person and now ex father in law. He made me laugh and I liked giving him a big ol hug when I knew he hated hugs. Lol. I enjoyed the nine years of him being my father-in-law. He was quite the character. I truly hope and pray to meet him in haven one day. Donna many prayers and hugs for you as you transition through lifewithout him. I pray peace and endurance as you Wade through some dark waters.

Grandpa was always a kind, gentle, and humble man. His sense of humor always filled the room with laughter. His warm smile always brightened my day. I’ll always remember our trips to go get chocolate fudge swirl ice cream to eat. I’ll always remember him getting ready to go out to feed the animals and me following his every move hoping I could go out with him. I was too young so I couldn’t go. But when he’d leave, I would always watch him from the window and wouldn’t leave that spot until he came back. I will always remember showing my fair animals and trying to make him proud of his little granddaughter. I will always remember sneaking candy out of grandma’s jar and him catching me in the act only to sneak and eat the candy with me. I’ll always remember the last time he hugged me and told me he loved me. The memories of him and I will always live on in my heart. I’m so grateful I have my fond memories of him. Priceless memories that I’ll be sure to tell my children and their children, because he was one of the most important men in my life that I always looked up to. Rest In Peace, my sweet Grandpa. I love you always.

Was so sad to hear of the passing of Gary Hoberty. Several decades ago was honored to have both of his sons as students in FFA as a teacher. Enjoyed the calm manner and support he gave our FFA community and he will be missed

Thank you for being the best grandpa, father, husband, brother, and friend. I will cherish my memories with you forever. I'll always remember when you took me in your tractor and drove around with me for a while. You always made me feel loved and knew how to make me laugh. You were a man of little words but when you talked we all listened. You spoke through your actions and we all learned from you. Your patience, love, strength, and wisdom will forever leave a mark on anyone you met. I love you so much, thank you for taking the time to make memories with me. Showing me how to properly eat pop tarts(with butter, toasted) or waking up at 4 am to just sit in quiet and enjoy black coffee before everyone was awake. You kept a little book that I bought you when I was in 4th grade and wrote down notes in it. That meant so much to me that you kept it. When I remember you and tell my future kids about you it will bring me so much happiness to tell them about their amazing great grandfather. In my mind, this isn't a goodbye. This is a see you soon. I'm sure there are fields up there in heaven, I know you'll be the best farmer up there. Until we meet again. Love Your granddaughter, Hannah.
