News Death Notice

PHELPS JR., James S. "Jim" age 58 of Dayton, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 31, 2011. He was a 1972 graduate of Northmont High School and was a US Naval Veteran stationed at Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Jim was a member of American Legion Post # 613. He is survived by his parents James Sr. and Jewel Phelps, 2 daughters Shannon (Brian) McGuire, Lacey Phelps and Chad Collard, son James III (Shawna) Phelps, 7 grandchildren, girl friend Vicky Fox and good friend Ruben. Services will be held 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Baker-Hazel & Snider Funeral Home 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St. by Pastor Pat Idding. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Jim's memory.
