Janet Szima

1957 - 2017

SZIMA, Janet Marie Age 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, left us and this world too soon on Friday, October 20, 2017. Jan was born on October 3, 1957 to Joan (Jalbert) Brame and the late Richard Brame in Detroit, Michigan. After her marriage to Joe, she began and continued to raise their beautiful family, her three children and four grandchildren. During her life, she enjoyed memorable times traveling the world, helping those in need, and pursuing her path with Christ. She will be deeply missed as a shining light to us all as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Jan is survived by her loving husband of 28 memorable years, Joseph Szima; children, Christopher Szima (Deborah), Douglas Klausen (Heidi), and Allison Graham (T.J.); her grandchildren; her mother, Joan Brame; and siblings, Pat Halty (Julio), Richard Brame, Jr., and Carolyn Chisano (Tom). A memorial funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Southeast Christian Church, Blankenbaker Campus, in the Chapel. Visitation will occur prior to the memorial service in the Fireside Chapel, from noon until 2 p.m. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather to reflect and share memories.
