I worked with Dr. Ritan for many years at MRH and will always remember him as a kind and generous man. My husband and I would cross paths with him on occassion and he always had a great big smile and a bear hug for both of us.
Rest in peace Dr. Ritan

Dear Virginia,
I don’t remember how I met John, but it seems to have been a long time ago. I always enjoyed his company at lunch, social gatherings, MidFest. I thought I was special, but then I discovered that he made everyone feel special.

When I visited him last year, I felt a bit of the pain you felt, as you visited him day after day for those years he was incapacitated. How sad it was to see this man who loved so deeply and so broadly. I hope he is at peace.

I am honored that he considered me a friend.

Warmest regards,

Bob Holzman

John was such a kind, funny, intelligent, well-read man. The hospital group's tailgating at the Bengals way back when will always be remembered as some of the most fun times in my life.

He will be missed by so many.

My thoughts go out to the Ritan family at this sad time.
