Preceded in death by sister Annie Currin and nephew Jimmy Gebhart. Joe is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins and countless friends around the world. Passed away suddenly due to a heart attack on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at age 38 while on a reunion run with his family in Venice, FL. Joe attended Moeller High School where he was a football and basketball standout and graduated in the class of 1990. He went on to play basketball for University of Cincinnati for one year before transferring to University of Dayton. He walked on to the basketball team at U.D. and worked his way into the starting lineup and appeared in 55 games. He played on the 1992-93 and 1993-94 teams. He went on to graduate from U.D. Law School. He then clerked for Judge Waldron of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and worked for Porter, Wright, Morris and Arthur in Columbus before taking a position with Caterpillar in Peoria, IL in 2005. He was recently transferred to Singapore, where he was Corporate Counsel for Caterpillar Asia. U.D. is also where he met the love of his life, Callie, to whom he was married for 13 years. He was a devoted husband and they shared an unwavering and special love. Joe was a wonderful, dedicated father, who loved openly and taught his children- and all of those he touched- how to live a life full of joy and laughter. Joe was our light. The youngest of 10 children, he was the heart of our family. We remember Joe for his devotion to his family and friends, his strong faith, his integrity, his sense of humor and his love of life. Joe could light up a room, was a tower of strength and enveloped us in his gentle love. Joe lived his life fully, teaching us all what is important and right. He is greatly missed. Family and friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Moeller High School gym, 9001 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45242. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8815 E. Kemper Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45249. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, OH. I too worked with Joe while he was in Cat Logistics in Morton. He was a special guy with a great work ethic and sense of humor. He will be missed and my sympathies are with you all.

I truly enjoyed working with Joe while he was assigned to Cat Logistics in Morton, IL. He was always overwhelmed with challenging client legal assignments and was a tireless worker. Through it all, I could tell he was a very special person who had a lot of love in his life. He always had a smile on his face. Those who had the pleasure to work with Joe will miss his friendship and warmth.
