Johnson, Joyce E.

Joyce E. Johnson, age 83, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Atrium Hospital. She was born in Middletown, Ohio, on February 8, 1941, daughter of the late Vivian (Conn) and George Koeppel. She worked at Kettering Hospital for 3 years and had also worked at the Middletown CVS for 13 years. Joyce and her husband Richard worked at the family-owned Happy Hobby House for many years until it closed in 1994. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Koeppel; and 3 sisters, Doris (in 1938 at age 4), Sue Weist, and Becky (Jerry Hall). Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Richard A. Johnson; her sister Sandy (she passed December 9, 2024), her son, Joe (Tina) Helmig; 2 daughters, Teresa Helmig and Susan Baker; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held 4 – 5 p.m., Sunday January 19, 2025, at Carlisle Community Church, 780 Fairview Drive, Carlisle, OH 45005, where a Celebration of Life will follow at 5 p.m. Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown, Ohio, serving the family.
