Castle, Logan Curtis

Logan Curtis Castle, 85, of Centerville, passed away on July 27, 2025. He was born on Christmas 1939, in Ulysses, Kentucky, to Colley and Marie Castle. The second of five sons, he grew up in rural Kentucky before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1957. He served with distinction for 10 years in Navy Air as an aircraft electrician, with service across the Pacific, and earned several commendations for his skill and dedication. Following his military service, Logan began a long career with General Motors in Dayton, Ohio, working there until his retirement in 1999. In the mid-1980s, while raising a family and working full time, he became the first in his family to earn an undergraduate degree, graduating from Wright State University with a degree in mathematics. Logan had a lifelong love of airplanes, and a wide-ranging intellectual curiosity on subjects ranging from history to mathematics to physics. He was known for his calm demeanor, sharp mind, and dedication to his work and family. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Kim Castle of Oakwood; daughter, Darlene Robinson and son-in-law Lee Schwieterman of Costa Mesa, CA; grandchildren Ian Schwieterman, Stella Castle, and Adria Castle; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Colin, Gerald, and David; and daughter, Lee Bleh. Visitation will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Mount Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek.
