HALEY, Dr. Michael Robert Jr. age 87, passed away Monday January 28, 2008, at St. Leonard's Center. He was born in Piqua, OH. on December 22, 1920 to Dr. Michael and Cecilia Haley. He is survived by Doris, his wife of 60 years; his sister Adele Haley; his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Renee of Dayton and his daughter and son-in-law, Cissy and Craig Pfeiffer of New York. He also leaves four loving grandchildren, Michael Haley IV, Meg Haley, Austin Pfeiffer and Haley Pfeiffer; and one great-grandchild, Landon Michael Haley. Dr. Haley attended Chaminade HS (Class of 1938), the University of Dayton and the University of St. Louis School of Dentistry. He served in the US Navy and during this time he met the love of his life, Doris Jehl, in Memphis, TN. Dr. Haley practiced family dentistry on North Main Street for over 52 years. He was an avid and accomplished golfer, recording 5 hole-in-ones. He was active in the Dayton community, serving as President of Dayton Dental Society and President of the U of D Varsity Club and a member of Miami Valley Golf Club, Agonis Club, Dayton Gym Club and Kittyhawk Men's Golf Association. Dr. Haley has donated his tired and experienced body to Wright State Medical School for research. There will be a Memorial Mass celebrating his life at St. Leonard's Main Chapel on Friday, February 1st at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be directed to Hospice of Dayton, recognizing their extraordinary care and kindness during the recent months. We loved him very much and all will miss him!
