SCHRIMPF, Michael Thomas 64, passed away on Sunday, November 19 at his home in Arnaudville, Louisiana. Born on May 1, 1953, Mike was raised in Dayton, Ohio. He was a 1973 graduate of Archbishop Alter High School and a long time resident of the Acadiana area. Mike was a patient, kind and outgoing man who never met a stranger. He was a lover of people, always ready to help whenever he could. Mike was a wonderful husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, loving son and a loyal friend. Mr. Schrimpf is survived by his wife, Carla Schexnayder Schrimpf of Arnaudville; a son, Ryan Schrimpf of Arnaudville; his mother, Muriel Quinlan Schrimpf of Centerville, Ohio; a twin brother, Mark Schrimpf and his wife Jeannie of Harriman, Tennessee; three sisters, Frances Early and her husband Tom of San Angelo, Texas; Anita Leach and her husband Don of Sandy, Utah; and Patricia Wallace and her husband Mike of Englewood, Colorado; one grandson, Dylan Schrimpf; one stepson, Jason Davidson of Dayton, Ohio; and two step grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kayden Davidson. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Charles Schrimpf and a stepson, Derek Castille. The family sends love and thanks for all of the kind words and prayers. Special gratitude goes to Mike's brother in-law, Jay Gallet, who gave unselfishly of himself to help Mike throughout his illness. We love you, Jay. A memorial will be held to celebrate Mike's life this Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pavilion in Girard Park, Lafayette, Louisiana.
