Morrie LIEB Obituary

News Death Notice

LIEB, Morrie Passed quietly early on August 18th, a month shy of his 88th birthday. He died of complications from his prostate cancer but lived pain free, and with loving friends and family with him until the day he passed. Morrie grew up in Detroit, Michigan and was born in 1926. He died at home, in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, with his daughter Lisa Lieb Malamed at his side. Morrie founded an apparel buying office in Manhattan, in operation still, and was dearly loved by his associates and well regarded in the industry. He had an astounding number of devoted friends; men and women in their twenties to their nineties. Morrie's generous heart and wisdom touched so many lives, and his memories will be revered. Morrie is survived by his daughters Beth Lieb, Lisa Lieb Malamed, Terry Cohen, Ellen Berman, his son in law Edward Berman, and by his 9 grandchildren. Morrie is predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Ruth Lieb, their son Robert Lieb who died of leukemia in 2013, and by his sister Ellen. There will be a memorial luncheon on Sunday, September 7, from noon to 3 o'clock. This will be held at the Palisadium, 700 Palisadium Dr., Cliffside Park, New Jersey. The family welcomes you to gather to celebrate Morrie's life.

I worked with Morrie in the Troy, Ohio store, "The Garage for Her". It was a lot of fun, and he was a wonderful "Boss". I have many fond memories of that, and with all of the other gals that worked for him. Rest in peace, Morrie.
