HOLMBO, Patricia L. of Powell affectionately known as "Mel", passed away October 6, 2014 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born on February 6, 1931, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Davis Little and Loudine (Pavey) Little. She graduated from Fairmont High School where she proudly played the trumpet in the Dragon marching band. She went on to graduate from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she received her degree in education. Mel taught in the Dayton Public Schools where she met fellow teacher and future husband Arne. After raising her 2 children, Mel became an attendance officer for the Vandalia Butler Schools. Her passion throughout her life were her plants and flowers as well as her many dogs, who occupied the number one place in her heart, especially her French Bulldogs. Mel is survived by son, Jon of West Milton, sister Pamela Durrett of Powell, brother Michael Little of Phoenix, AZ, first cousin Coral (Gary) Handy of Sylvania; Special Nieces Dawn (Robert) Vass of Powell, Danielle Durrett (Anthony) of Ft. Myers, FL and nephew Steven (Nadia) Little of Phoenix, AZ, along with many other great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Arne, and daughter Heidi. Family will receive friends on Saturday October 11th from 2-4 pm at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 N. High St, Worthington, 43085, where a memorial service will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home.
