News Death Notice

MARDEROSIAN, Rafael "Marc" age 90, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013. He was born November 21, 1922 in Erie, PA to the late Leo and Justine Marderosian. Marc was a WWII combat Veteran in the African and European Theatres, and was also an Aeronautical Engineer and Systems Logistics Manager for the United States Air Force. He was member of the Beavercreek community for 40 years. Marc was preceded in death by his son, Raffi "Chip" Marderosian. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Birdella "Birdie"; their daughter, Kim ; son, Dan; and 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 1-3pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. A memorial gathering to celebrate Marc's life and an opportunity to share memories and remarks will follow from 3-5pm Saturday at the Beavercreek Senior Citizens' Center, 3868 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Memorial, c/o City of Beavercreek, Parks Dept.,789 Orchard Ln, Beavercreek, OH 45434 or to the Beavercreek 911 Memorial, c/o City of Beavercreek, 1368 Research Park, Beavercreek, OH 45432. Dear Family
I am so sorry for your (our) loss. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Marc for over 10 years and he is the reason I work at the beautiful, spacious Senior Center. More than our work together I treasured our friendship. I often would call him dad, especially when he would come to me with another project. I learned so much from him but most of all I learned what it is to love your community and country and what it is to truly give back. I am a better person and Beavercreek a better place for having Marc in our lives

A life so well lived, so well loved! Marc's presence lit up the many lives of those who had the priviledge to known this awesome gentleman. Words can't begin to express all he meant to us. We feel so blessed to have him in our life! As well, our community was so blessed by his ongoing commitment and tremendous generosity of his time. He lives on in our hearts. Mr. Marderosian was one of the defining figures in Beavercreek, when my husband and I moved here. I really enjoyed his newspaper columns.
