News Death Notice

KLEIBECKER, Ralph Everett a member of the "Greatest Generation", passed away peacefully on May 25th. Born in West Alexandria, Ohio on March 14, 1924, he was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary and siblings. During the Great Depression Ralph joined the Civilian Conservation Corps where he helped build roads, bridges and lodges throughout Wyoming and Montana. When World War II erupted he enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1943 -1946. Ralph saw action in both the European and Pacific theaters. After the war Ralph married his sweetheart, Juanita Smoyer, on August 3, 1946 and settled in Dayton. Together they raised 3 children, Tony (Peggy Brown) of Okemos, MI; Anne Booten (Chuck) of Dayton; and Joan White (Ron) of Tipp City. He was also the proud grandfather of Chad White and Erin Kleibecker, each of whom always brought a sparkle to his eye. He is also survived by many relatives and friends. Ralph worked for Dayton Tire and Rubber for 37 years, retiring in 1973. An excellent mechanic and accomplished handyman, he remained forever busy in retirement. Ralph helped his kids, other family, neighbors and friends whenever work needed to be done. With an extremely inquisitive mind his trademark quip was always "I don't need the instructions!" Ralph was a man who was always ready to help anybody and anytime. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday, May 30 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 411 E Second St Dayton 45402.
