Rick was our neighbor for many years. Many long chats after mowing the grass. My dad Rick would have Rick n Rick conversations for hours over the fence line. He was always in his garage enjoying a beverage watching TV and working on his Harley Davidson. I ended up moving away for a many years and visited him after I bought my first motorcycle. I pulled up in his driveway on my motorcycle after many years of not seeing or talking to him. He was still in his garage enjoying himself next to his Harley. Just like the good old days. He said Zack?! What the hell you been up to? Like we never missed a beat. I told him I bought my first motorcycle and he was the first guy I thought of to show it off to. He gave me some info on maintenance and shining my spokes. We had some really good times and the best conversations. I missed being your neighbor brotha. I hope you in hog heaven riding with that smile you always had. Much luv brother Rick.

I have know Rick since Anthony Wayne. He was a good friend and we did models and Cub Scouts together. I moved to Columbus 40 years ago and got busy with life. I came back for an event and ran into Rick. We sat down and talked about old times and what we were doing. Rick was very easy to talk to and it felt like it was only last week we say each other and not 40 years. You will be missed.

Rick and I are lifetime friends from Schaefer Jr High and from working at the "old" Shell Station on South Limestone in the late 70´s - when it had the two garage bays. I remember Rick as a person of the highest integrity and detail. We shared a lot of wrenching experiences on our cars in those days. Our futures then took different paths with Rick going to diesel school and me joining the Air Force that later led me to settling in Oklahoma City. I have a lot of good memories from our times in Springfield. It was coincidental to us that our mothers (Alice and Marie) were good friends that they stayed connected by meeting together late into their years and that provided some connection for me through those years. I am so sorry to learn of Rick´s battle with cancer and passing. Our family will keep Rick and family in our thoughts and prayers.
