SLONE, Robert Murray "Bob" 79, of Springfield, Ohio passed away Sunday May 21, 2017. Bob was born August 20, 1937 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, son of the late Hasel James Slone and Goldie Mabel (Murray) Slone. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Wilma M. (Johnson) Slone; daughter Debbie (Sam) Winters of Summerfield, North Carolina; granddaughters Nicole Lynne (Tim) Carey of Cary, NC and Stephanie Michelle Winters of Greensboro, NC; great grandchildren Hudson, Elam, Avenell and Tessa Carey ; brothers Carl (Joyce) Slone and Marvin Slone all of Waverly, Ohio; Jim Slone of Webster, Kentucky; Harold (Rosi) Slone of Campbell, California; Steve (Cecelia) Slone of Chillicothe, Ohio; sister-in-Law Diane Slone of Portsmouth, Ohio; brother-in-law Keith (Bonnie) Johnson of Springfield, Ohio; and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his sister Eula Hastings and brother Stan Slone. Mr. Slone proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1960, and retired from AT&T after 32 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family playing card games, traveling, watching all sports and attending harness horse races with his brother-in-law buddy Keith for more than 50 years. Visitation will be held at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME Thursday May 25 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Dave Augustus officiating and burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
