SPEELMAN, Dr. Robert L. 77, of Springfield, passed away December 28, 2017 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1940 in New Lexington, Ohio, the son of Robert C. and Mary Ellen (Aleshire) Speelman. Dr. Speelman graduated from the Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1976 and worked as a Chiropractor until his retirement in 2004. He was a conflict Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Navy. Dr. Speelman was a member of the Eagles, the V. F. W. Post 8437 Enon, the AmVets, the Union Club, the Elks and the Moose. Survivors include one daughter; Robin Renee Speelman (Kent Tolman) South Ogden, Utah, Bob's loving companion and angel; Anna Marie Day, Springfield, grandchildren; Lindsay Marie Speelman (Joshua Stratton), Robert Michael (MacKenzie) Speelman, Austin Jay Tolman, Alyssa Nicole Tolman, Angelia Lynn Rivera, Ashley Lee Rivera, Dalton Jeffrey Speelman, Harley Ruth Speelman and Xander Logan Speelman, great grandchildren; Brandon Robert Speelman, Trinity Nicole Speelman, Chloe Lee Speelman and Riley Renee Speelman and his best friend for over 39 years; Ahmed Hegazy, Tipp City, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a son; Jeffrey Michael Speelman, half brother; Rodney Kimball and his parents. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday in Ferncliff Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Additional visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services in the chapel. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow.
