News Death Notice
HOWARD, Mrs. Ruby Jean Shelby age 71, of Dayton, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was called home by God Thursday, March 24, 2011. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Johnny Howard, Jr.; daughters, DeJanarrio "Dee" Howard Lumpkin & Sharon Howard Ingram; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, April 1, 2011 at the HOUSE OF WHEAT Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Jeannette Cochran, First Church of God, Madison, IL, officiating. Interment West Memory Gardens. Visitation 9 am Friday at the funeral home until the time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. I'm sad to hear about the passing of Ms. Ruby, a dear sweet person who was like a neighborhood grandmother to me. My sister, Chantel and I will miss talking and visiting with Ms. Ruby. We will keep the Howard family uplifted in prayer.

To my friends I am sorry that you are going through such a hard time. Ms.Ruby was a very nice person who was always there to encourage her family and also her neighbors. Sharon my words cannot express the pain I feel for you at this time. I have known your family for many years and wish you peace and love. May the Lord continue to give you the strength to help you through this very difficult time. She will be sadly missed.
