Ruth CURTISS Obituary
News Death Notice
CURTISS, Ruth B. age 92, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Stone Spring Transition Care Center of Vandalia following a lengthy illness. Ruth was born May 4, 1921, in Duquesne, Pennsylvania and resided in Dayton the majority of her life. Ruth was a dedicated member of Greater Allen AME Church until her health failed and she could no longer attend. She was a member of the Missionary Society and Stewardess Board #2. She was a retiree of Good Samaritan Hospital. Ruth will be deeply missed by the many persons that loved her and whom life she touched. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Lasalle (Spring) and Samuel Sr. (Gail) Curtiss; loving and devoted daughter, Tracie Craft and granddaughter, Daaryn'ah Willoughby; other daughters, Kimberly Reed and Sandi (John) Moreland; grandchildren, Teaven (Tonya) and Yolanda Curtiss, Candy Curtiss (Anthony Traylor, Sr.), Adonis, Samuel, Jr. and Brandon Curtiss, Marvella Reed, Allen Moreland, Jasmine Brown, LaDawn Reed, Marvell Reed, Jr. and Mariah Moreland; great grandchildren, Dederick, Kristopher, Sumiya, Karina, Jarell, Keyshawn, Anthony, Jr., Kimora, Adonis, Jr. and Zyiere; special longtime friend, Mary McCallister. Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, July 15, 2013 at Greater Allen AME Church, 1620 W. Fifth Street. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Visitation from 9 to 11 am. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Stone Spring Transitional Care Center for the care they extended during Ruth's illness. Ms Ruth was a very special lady. Even throughout her illness, she remained feisty and bossy which is what I adored about her. She was s fighter. I enjoyed taking care of her and will miss her dearly. God Bless all of her family and I will keep you all in my prayers....Katina....
