Sandra Mulligan Obituary
Sandra L. Mulligan, 78, of Trenton passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Sandi was born in Middletown on May 5th, 1947 to Boyd & Ida Mae (Williams) Gillespie. Sandi worked for Baker Concrete Construction as a Worker's Comp. Specialist. She was a Member of Holy Family Parish, where she was one of their Gardening Angels, on the Bereavement Committee, and an Active Volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. She was also a Member of the Middletown Moose # 501. Sandi was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; James F. Mulligan; her son, Alan P. Mulligan; her daughter, Melinda (Keith) Beckman; 5 grandchildren, Conner Beckman, Garrett Beckman, Erin Mulligan, Lauren Mulligan and Kellen Beckman; a brother, Ronald (Suzy) Gillespie and two sisters, Rebecca (David) Mather and Pamala (Ronald) Arnold. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 5-7:00 pm at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH 45044 (at Bonita Drive) with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street Middletown, OH 45042 with Fr. John Civille as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Woodside Cemetery & Arboretum. Like many of Sandi's other friends, I became friends with her in high school at Madison. Sandi was the one that was sane, as many of us friends were willing to do anything to have fun! She most always volunteered to drive because she was not willing to get into a car that one of the other of us would be driving!
As we went through our different lives, Sandi always remained a good friend. After our move to California, when Gregg and I visited Middletown, we always made sure to get together with Sandi, Jim and "the gang". Sandi and Shirley came to see us (actually, Shirley's son in law) and had fun going to Tijuana, negotiating prices for things we wanted to buy.
The last time Gregg and I saw Sandi and Jim, was at our 50th wedding anniversary this past March. Although she looked beautiful in her blue head covering, Gregg and I are honored that she came, although in pain. She was a fighter!
Gregg and I are so sad we will not be able to attend Sandi's Celebration of Life. Our hearts go out to her wonderful family.
