WEST, Tecla Mildred "Tee" Died peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2016. She was 90 years old. Tee was a long time employee of Lazarus Department Store, both in Dayton and in Cincinnati. She was born in Republic, Pennsylvania on September 13, 1925 and was one of twelve children born to Peter P. and Marianna Smyksy. Her husband, Paul West and her sisters Ann, Nell, Mildred, Pauline, Mae, Julia and brothers Andrew, Edward, and Peter had all preceded her in death. Surviving are her sister, Helen and brother, Daniel. Tee and her husband Paul had no children of their own, but Tee's love for family included her brothers and sisters and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as relatives in Poland where her parents and sister Ann were born. Late in life Tee learned Polish in order to help Paul compile the family genealogy during her visits to Krakow and the village of Konina where many relatives still live. Tee spent her final years at the 10 Wilmington Place Retirement Community, Dayton Ohio under the loving care of her niece Dottie Napora and the companionship of her sister Mem (Mildred Napora) who died there in 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 6th in the chapel of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2300 South Smithville Road.
