News Death Notice

AIKMAN, Ted Leroy age 63, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011 in his home in Donna, TX, surrounded by the love of his wife Betsy Aikman. Ted was born in Dayton, OH on March 25, 1948, the son of Paul & Mildred Aikman and had (12) siblings Rebecca Ogle, Jacalyn Bueckly, Kristine Klink, Karlene Weaver, LaJean Aikman, Donna Robinson, Paul Aikman, Ronald Aikman, Daniel Aikman, Tomas Aikman, John Aikman, and Kenneth Aikman. Ted attended Northmont High School, class of 1966, and attended Terra Technical College. Ted married Betsy Johnson in 1971, and had a child Brian Aikman in 1972. Ted was employed by Hayes Albion, Tiffin, OH (23 yrs) and Brillion Iron Works, Brillion, WI. (10 yrs) as supervisory of the melting department. Ted was also the owner of Sycamore Tavern, Sycamore, OH (3 yrs). Ted enjoyed his family and friends as well as the love of the outdoors, hunting & fishing. After retiring Ted enjoyed traveling in his motor home and seeing the country. Ted had a passion for motorsports and Michigan football "Go Blue". Ted is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betsy Aikman, Donna, TX; son Brian Aikman, Independence, KY and stepchildren Ruth Gainer, Columbus, OH and Ronald Dull Jr., Tiffin, OH, grandson Alexander Aikman (13) and step grandchildren Samantha Dull (24), Ronald Dull 3rd "JR" (22), Gage Dull (13). Per Teds request, no public services will be held. In lieu of flowers, Ted has requested that donations be made in his memory to one of the following charities, The National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org or by calling 1-800-543-6393 and The National Hospice Foundation, www.nationalhospicefoundation.org.
