We were friends with Tom in the 90s and he used to cook for us occasionally. He had the most amazing tomato and herb garden (he grew the tomatoes in pots on his deck) He literally cooked us the best and freshest meals I´ve ever eaten! He was also one of the friendliest, open hearted, generous, nonjudgmental, humble person I´ve ever met in my life! He was super funny and laid back. He truly was a fantastic good guy. My condolences to the family-I´m so sorry for your great loss!

I was a bus boy at Sacksteder's in 1959 - 1960. I worked there with terrific people including Tom Sacksteder and Erwin Kohler. May they rest in peace.

Tom, you are an old soul set free again from worldly bounds and challenges and destine to soar to new heights. You were a wonderful human being and a great friend. We were fortunate to share so many experiences, and good times over the years and to be the brothers neither of us had. I'll be postponing my trip to see you this spring until some time in the very distant future, but I am pretty sure that our paths will cross again sometime and somewhere in the cosmos. God bless you Tom! Wishing you everlasting life in heaven. We'll be missing you!

I remember Sacksteder's Cafeteria on Wilmington Ave. very well. Always enjoyed eating there. They had the best fish! My Uncle Dick Wuebben used to be a cook there, too. I went to St. Anthony with a girl named Pam Sacksteder. As for the rest of us, life goes on.

So sorry for your loss. I worked at Sacksteder's from 1979-1983. What a great family. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family.
