Timothy McGrath Obituary
Timothy Joseph McGrath, 77 of Sykesville, MD, formerly of Hamilton, OH, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at home.
He was born on August 30, 1947, in Hamilton, OH to the late William McGrath and Hilda Schreck McGrath. He was married to Linda (Keck) McGrath for 51 years.
Tim served proudly in the US Air Force and was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife lived in Hamilton, OH until 2019, when they moved to Maryland to be closer to family. His catholic faith was very important to him, most recently Tim was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Community, Eldersburg, MD, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7612. He loved to play cards, fish, golf, play pool and cheer for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was also a life-long blood donor to the American Red Cross. Tim loved socializing, and being around family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters and son-in-law, Dr. Sara C. McGrath of Washington, DC and Lauren M. and Bret Neilsen of Marriottsville, MD; brother Gerald "Jerry" McGrath of New Burn, NC; mother-in-law Vera (Hogan) Keck of Hamilton, OH and grandchildren: Avery, Raegan and Brooke Neilsen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, James McGrath, John "Jack" McGrath and twin brother Tom McGrath.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, MD. A catholic mass will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD. Private interment will be in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be to the American Red Cross, 4800 Mount Hope Drive, Baltimore, MD 21215, the Freedom District Lions Club, 1363 Progress Way #1663, Eldersburg, MD 21784 or to the Maryland Food Bank 2200 Halethorpe Farms Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
