Walter was the first stranger who ever sang to me. It was my second day at my new job at BI and he came to introduce himself. A few moments later, he sang a few lines of Bobby Sherman's, "Julie, do ya love me?" before giving me a brief synopsis of the song's history and artist. I soon learned this was not unique, Walter didn't just have an amazing voice, but was also a gifted storyteller with a rich knowledge for virtually any topic you wished to discuss with him. I only had the pleasure of knowing Walt for a few short years, but in that time he became a treasured mentor and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Walt and I were colleagues at BI for many years; but more importantly, friends. I will always cherish the memories of our trip to Spring Training in Tampa and more recently our trip to Dallas to pick up his 1950 Ford. Walt; I know your listening; take that Ford for a nice long drive.
Your friend,
Mark Labadia (Brookfield, CT)

It is with complete sadness that I have to say that I had the honor to get to know and work along with Walter for a few years, here at BI. He will be missed, specially those long "back in the days" historical stories that kept us entertained so many times. We never knew what he was going to say next, full of surprises.Rest in peace Walter!
