Norma Charlotte Rowedder October 12,1926 - October 26, 2018 Norma Charlotte (Roecker) Rowedder, daughter of Frank and Anna (Stoltz) Roecker, was born October 12,1926, in Crawford County, Iowa. She was baptized into the catholic faith. Norma completed eight years in rural schools and then graduated from Manilla High School in 1944. On December 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ivan Rowedder by Father Casey at the Sacred Heart Parsonage in Manilla, Iowa. They made their homes on various farms in Crawford County and were the parents of four sons. They were members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. In 1969, they moved to Denison. Norma retired after working as a quality control employee at World Wide Meats which was later bought by Dubuque Packing Company. She enjoyed dancing, golfing, flowers, gardening, and sewing. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Norma passed away peacefully on October 26, 2018 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa. She had attained the age of 92. Preceding her in death are her husband, Ivan; parents; grandson, Chad; brothers, Donald, Norbert, Marvin, and Rolland; sister, Edna; parents-in-law, Herman and Katie Rowedder. Norma is survived by her sons, Rick Rowedder and his wife JoDene of Granger, Iowa, Denny Rowedder and his wife Ruth of Panora, Iowa, Marc Rowedder and his wife Kristin of Denison, Iowa, and Michael Rowedder of Forsyth, Montana; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Roecker of Denison, Iowa; and sister, Charla Knapp of Beaver Lake, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Denison, Iowa with Father Randy Schon as Celebrant. Music for the mass was provided by the St. Rose of Lima Choir singing "I Call You to My Father's House", "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", "On This Day O Beautiful Mother", and "A Closer Walk with Thee" with Jean Cornelius serving as accompanist. Other participating in the mass were Servers: Charlotte Schrum and Xochitl Arellano; Gifts: Family Members; Lectors: Nicole McCarville and Marc Rowedder; Eucharistic Ministers: Carol Lally, Darlene Reis, and Barb Songer; Pallbearers were Nicole McCarville, Colby McCarville, Scott Rowedder, Austin Rowedder, Aaron Rowedder, and Alexa Rowedder. Interment was at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, Denison, Iowa. Following graveside rites, the family met at Cronk's Café for a luncheon. The Pauley Jones Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
