Aaron Dilks Obituary
Newark
Aaron James Dilks went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2015 peacefully in his sleep. Aaron was born May 2, 1966 in Bedford, England when his father was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. Aaron spent his life in the music industry since the age of 18 doing sound for local bands such as Psychopath, Solitude, Hayden, Anthony Gallucio and Bombs Squad. He later started working with larger bands as both tour manager and security for Cinderella, Ice Cube, Ice Tea, Manson, Creed, Smashing Pumpkins, Tommy Lee, Cee-Lo Green and his most recent tour with Anthrax.
The bands Aaron toured with all loved him and became another family to him. Aaron lived his short life always with a smile on his face when he was on the road, coming home to tell his family all of the stories from life as a "Rock Star".
Aaron is survived by his parents, Jim and Shirley Dilks of Bear, DE, his sister, Taryn Pariag of Wilmington; his daughter, Brianna Rayne of Colorado, his half sister, Linda Grono of Australia. Aaron also has a niece, Julia Pariag, a nephew, Christian Pariag of Wilmington and niece Evelyn Leverett of Australia. He is also survived by cousins and an aunt in PA, along with his closest and dearest friend, Scott Humphrey.
The family would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming amount of support we have received from both friends and bands all over the world.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:30 am in the Dravo Auditorium at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, 815 Justison St., Wilmington, DE 19801. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 17 from 1-5 pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek and again on Thursday, June 18 from 11-11:30 am in the Dravo Auditorium at the Chase Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Jim and Shirley Dilks, 23 Edward Ct., Newark, DE 19702 for his daughter.

There are no words. The beauty, life and light Aaron brought unto his all too brief time on this earth, was awe inspiring. Nary a man I've seen fulfill his dream as Aaron did. I had the pleasure of knowing and touring with Aaron. In the early 90's he ran sound for our band "Bomb Squad". Although it has been many years since I have seen him, I still feel as sad as if it were yesterday. When you live as a small group on the road you become a family. Aaron was as great a part of this family as any of us. We will truly miss our brother!

I met Aaron years ago when he was doing sound for local bands. He was one of the sweetest guys I ever met, and even though I have not seen him for many years, I thought of him often. My heart goes out to the family for losing such a special person at such a young age. RIP, Aaron.

I am so glad that I met you 23 years ago. You were a great friend and were always easy to talk to. I'm going to miss your stories and our laughs together and so many fun times. You are certainly in a much better place now, where you can rest we can know that God is now your tour. Although I havent seen you in years, I always heard stories of your wild adventures. Who would have thought that you would have traveled the world knowing that we grew up on that little court next to the farmers field. I can't adequately put into words how sorry I was to hear of Aaron's passing. we met many years ago when he was doing sound, and he later came to help our band as well. he was so professional and his skills at the soundboard were so good that he actually made people think that we knew what we were doing! he was equal parts Roadie/stage manager/baby sitter/inspirational guru,and did it all with that infectious smile of his.he became a brother to us all and a lifelong friend. there is a reason so many people loved him. he was one of a kind. I have never and will never meet another man like Aaron. my sincere condolences to his family and friends. he was "one of the good guys".
