Alice Lord Gibson

Alice Lord Gibson, 76 years, of Bridgeville, DE passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012, after a prolonged battle with numerous illnesses.

Born in Wilmington, DE, Alice was the daughter of the late Maynard and Frances (Conner) Lord.

She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and Brown Vocational School. Alice worked for many years at the Wilmington Hospital as a Nurse Technician.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Alice was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and loved country music. She attended and loved the Mt. Salem U.M. Church.

Alice was predeceased by her husband: George, her longtime partner Fred, her brothers: Albert and Daniel and her sister: Joann.

She is survived by her sons: Paul G. of Bridgeville, DE, George F. and his wife Tammy of Harrington, DE, Edward I. and his wife Monica of Wilmington, DE, daughters: Karen Yeatman of Millsboro, DE, JoPaula Barshay and her husband Bruce of Mays Landing, NJ, Allison L. Fasano and her husband Tony of Bridgeville, DE, brothers: Paul Lord of Arlington, TX and Maynard Lord of Del Ray Beach, FL, sisters: Hazel Raduzowski, Frances Conway and Sandra Lord all of Wilmington, DE, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Wednesday February 29 at 12:30 pm at Mt. Salem in Rockford Park U.M. Church, 2629 W. 19th St., Wilmington, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:30 am to 12:15 pm. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Alice to the Mt. Salem United Methodist Church, 2629 W. 19th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806.
