Judith Irene Gibson

Judith Irene Gibson, age 83 of Hinckley, IL passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at her home. She was born on January 10, 1943 in Eau Claire, WI the daughter of Oliver and Alice (Bushendorf) Amundson.

Judy was united in marriage on November 4, 1967 in Elk Mound, WI to Larry Gibson and they spent the next 59 years happily together. Judy was employed for 33 years by Illinois Bell Company, first in its Naperville office and later in its Aurora office. Judy then joined her husband, Larry in their family business, Superior Diesel Inc. located in both Waterman and DeKalb, IL. She was employed at Superior Diesel from June 1995 to November 2025. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Judy is survived by her husband, Larry Gibson of Hinckley, IL; her son, David (Jamie) Gibson of Paw Paw, IL; her grandchildren, Gage Ryan Gibson and Reagan Leigh Gibson; her sister, Ruth (Lester) Olson of Eau Claire, WI; also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Alice Amundson; and her sister, Karen Amundson.

A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 East Garfield Street, Waterman, IL. Interment will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound, WI, at a later date.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026 at the Funeral Home in Waterman, IL.
