Andrew Timmons Obituary
Age 23, of Wilmington DE, passed away suddenly from acute leukemia on February 17, 2012 at the Christiana Hospital.
Drew attended Wilmington Montessori School, Tower Hill School, St. Edmunds Academy, and Delaware Military Academy, where he was Captain of the schools' first Lacrosse team. He embraced life fully, with a heart-felt love for people and a sense of humor that warmed those who knew and loved him. As a child he loved karate, rollerblading, dinosaurs, and legos. As a teenager, he loved lacrosse and music. As an adult, he was committed to a future helping young people remain drug free and sober. His ultimate dream of becoming a counselor was cut short on Friday night. Without question, the most important person in Andrew's life was his brother, Max. They were inseparable as children, and remained best friends throughout Andrew's life.
He is survived by his father, Earl L. Timmons; his mother and stepfather, Cathy D. and Lawrence R. Cessna; his brothers, Max, Nick and Brock Timmons; his stepsisters, Alexandra and Madison Cessna; his grandmother, Nita Willenborg; his grandparents, Earl and Rosalie Timmons. Andrew also has a very large and extended family and was especially close to his cousins Jamie and Scott Ingman, Amelia Willenborg; his aunts and uncles, Lori and Pete Wray, Paul and Patti Willenborg, Debra Wood, Patrick and Deborah Willenborg, and Doug and Ruth Willenborg.
Friends may call on Monday, February 20, from 6-8 pm at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road), Wilm., DE 19803 (Additional parking will be available at the YMCA of DE, Mt. Lebanon Road with an adjoining walkway connecting to the funeral home parking lot). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 21 at 10 am at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine, 10 Old Church Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Andrew would have wanted contributions made in his memory to his favorite charity, Cornerstone C/O Connections Community Support Programs, 500 West Tenth St., Wilm., DE 19801, so that even in death, he could help others.

I signed this right after you had passed but didnt know what to say even after we had known each other since middle school. It was so sudden and I could only think of the good times, which we only ever had good times buddy. Still miss you and our friendship we had. Hope the family is all well.

Drew and I often talked on Facebook, trying to help each other through difficult times. I knew he'd have something reassuring to say. I was proud to hear that he wanted to get clean, and was absolutely shocked to find out on Friday that he had acute leukemia. I wished him luck and told him he's a tough guy and he'd surely pull through. I am absolutely shocked and upset that he has passed away. I can't believe it's true. I want his family to know that I'm truly and deeply sorry for their loss. Drew was a great friend. Rest in peace, Drew.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Drew for several years! Andrew went to Delaware Military Academy with my son, Bradley, and they were close friends! I had gotten to know Drew VERY well myself over the past few months, and I was happy to hear of his commitment to sobriety and helping others!
