Miss Ava Marie Marra, age 50 of Wilmington, DE, passed away Tuesday evening, April 19, 2005.
Ava was born in Wilmington on August 2, 1954 and was a graduate of Thomas McKean High School, class of 1972. After graduating, she worked in the daycare of St. Anthony's Community Center. Ava loved being with people, especially children. She was an inspiration to all her friends at the Emily Bissell Hospital, always offering them encouragement and a smile. An avid fan of music and singing, she lived her life in accordance to the words of her favorite song and saying, "One Day at a Time, Sweet Jesus."
Ava is survived by her mother, Mary Frances (McFadden) Marra; her sisters, Colleen Harbison-Medek and her husband, Wes, Sharon Nardo and her husband, Danny, and Allison Johnson and her husband, Terry; her brother, Joseph Marra and his wife, Linda; her nieces and nephews, Alexis, Mary Frances, Tommy, Desiree, Danny, Alex, Sean, Tara, Jimmy, Alessandra, Alex, Gabrielle, Courtney, Anthony, Danny, Joey and Dominic; and her great nieces and nephews, Rachel, Marrissa, Carli, Danny and Tommy, VI. Ava was predeceased by her father, Alex J. Marra; her sister, Mary Frances; and her nieces, Stephanie and Gabrielle.
A funeral service will be held at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opposite Cathedral Cemetery), on Saturday, April 23, at 12 noon. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11 -12 noon.

Still thinking of you my friend. I miss your laugh and your silly jokes. I looked forward to going to work at Bissell everyday because I´d get to hang out with you before you left for Easter Seals. Rest well Ava

I will always remember you Ava. It still seems like yesterday that you were telling me how you "had it going in" when you were young. Still miss you and your side kick Biff at Bissell. Rest well Ava.
