David Bullock Obituary

David F. Bullock

David F. Bullock, age 68, of Claymont, DE, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2016, surrounded by his family.

David was a 1965 graduate of Claymont High School, where he was an avid football player and wrestler. He retired as Chief Operator from Sun Oil Refinery in 2001 after 35 years of dedicated service. David proudly served his country in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

David's children and grandchildren were the center of his world. He devoted his life to being the very best father and grandfather he could be. He loved spending long, quiet days fishing with his daughter, Dawn, in Rock Hall, MD, laughing with his kids and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending wrestling matches, watching football and having lunch around town with his favorite waitresses. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his family and friends. His goofy laugh and dry sense of humor will be forever missed.

David is predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Virginia Bullock.

David is survived by his daughter, Dawn Bullock Groover (Ronald) of Wilmington, DE; daughter, Cynthia Bullock of Wilmington, DE; son, Christopher Bullock of Claymont, DE; grandchildren, Shalyssa, Joey, Julia, Makayla; and great-grandaughter, Catalayah. He is also survived by his 3 brothers, Thomas Bullock (Crystal), Gary Bullock and Jeffrey Bullock (Susan); and a host of loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Friends may visit with the family Monday, February 8, 2016 from 11am to 1pm at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, where a service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: A.I. duPont Children's Hospital [email protected] and The B+ Foundation www.beposfdn.org/donate/

So sorry for Dave's family. We went to school with him from K-12. He was a great person and always cared about others. We saw him at the 40th reunion but couldn't make the 50th. He will be greatly missed

I graduated from Claymont High School with Dave and remember him as a very talented and dedicated athlete. More importantly, he was a great guy - very friendly and outgoing and very nice to everyone. I don't think that anyone who knew Dave back then would have a bad thing to say about him. I am sure he did not change through the years. My condolences to the family.

Dawn, Cindy, & Chris,

We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing-so many fond memories of him, Tommy and all the wrestlers over the years-my parents truly loved all the kids Dad coached-they were like family. I will always remember Dave fishing at his spot by the Eastern Neck Island Bridge and his sense of humor-he always made us laugh! Such a great guy-he loved his family so much and we always enjoyed it when the Bullocks came to visit over the years. He will be missed-please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Our deepest condolences,

Beth and Dick Morlock

How do you say goodbye to the man that has given you everything in life? The man that has lived just for you? Who has sacrificed his very life for your happiness? A man that loved you more than anything in the world and always put you 1st? I'm truly blessed and proud that he was mine. Our lives will never be the same. He was a true leader, a man of great character and dignity, an amazing person, father, grandfather and friend.

You held my hand when I was small.
You caught me when I fell.
Your the hero of my childhood, and my later years as well
And every time I think of you my heart still fills with pride. Though I'll always miss you Dad I know your by my side. In laughter and in sorrow. In sunshine and in rain. I know your watching over us. Until we meet again.
