David Manley Obituary
David J. Manley, Sr., 80 of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013.
Mr. Manley was born in Wilmington on March 14, 1933, son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Frederick) Manley. A graduate of Salesianum High School, he was employed as a supervisor with Delmarva Power and retired after 40 years of dedicated service. A faithful parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, he served as an usher at Mass and volunteered at parish bingo games. In his younger years, Mr. Manley enjoyed playing tennis, and he also enjoyed outings to the casinos. He was a devoted family man, especially proud of his beloved grandchildren, and found great pleasure in video taping family events.
Mr. Manley will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Joanne F. (Stephano) Manley; his children, Catherine Urban and her husband, Michael, David J. Manley, Jr., Donald Manley and his wife, Lisa and Donna Finch; his grandchildren, Heather Jones, Michael and Erin Urban, Douglas, Kyle, Ken, David III and Gregory Manley, and Chad, Chelsea and Shannon Finch; and his great grandchildren, Maura and Chloe Jones. He is also survived by his sisters, Trudy Hubbard and Barbara Gestwick; his brother-in-law, William Stephano and his wife, Jean; and his nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Manley.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, May 10 from 5:00 - 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th Street and Bancroft Parkway, Wilmington on Saturday, May 11 at 10:30AM. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

I will miss Mr. Manley as we saw him most days driving back and forth or outside. Sadly I just learned of his passing 2 wks after. I know he used to enjoy walking his dogs over the years. He is now in Gods Arms! Condolences go out to Mrs. Manley and the whole family.
