Dino RUGGIERI Obituary
Dino P. Ruggieri Age 72, of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2004 at his home. He was the husband of Joy Johnson Ruggieri, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Archie and Angeline Leo Ruggieri. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Dino was a mushroom broker and owner of Ruggieri Mushroom Corp. in Kennett Square for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a supervisor for New Garden Township for 28 years. Dino was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church in Avondale, PA; the Swayne, Campbell, Testa V.F.W. Post #5467 in Kennett Square; and the American Mushroom Institute. He was very involved and interested in politics and enjoyed doing morning crossword puzzles. Dino was also an avid New York Yankees fan. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: 5 sons, Mark T. Ruggieri of Kennett Square, PA, Dean J. Ruggieri of Stillwater, WI, Paul Ruggieri of Kennett Square, PA, John D. Ruggieri of West Grove, PA, and Peter J. Ruggieri of Lancaster, PA; 1 daughter, Lisa J. Vance of Kennett Square, PA; 1 brother, Domenic Ruggieri of Angola by the Bay, DE; 2 sisters, Melania Eapen of Roswell, GA and Elaine Ruggieri of Charlottesville, VA; 8 Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Diane Ruggieri; a brother, Archie Ruggieri; and by a sister, Rosalie Wheeler. Family and friends are invited to attend Dino's life celebration from 9:30 to 11:30 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church, Rt. 41, Avondale, PA. His funeral mass will follow at 11:30 am on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 5 Christy Dr., Chadds Ford, PA 19317 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are being handled by the KUZO & GOFUS FUNERAL HOME, LTD.
