Elizabeth Messarge Platt

AGE: 79 • Wilmington

Passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, after a long illness.

Born June 29, 1934 in Phoenixville, PA, she lived in Mt. Carmel, PA before moving to Delaware in 1964 after getting married and raising a family.

She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, reading paperback novels and taking pleasure in the simple things in life, like sitting on the back porch in the morning and evening.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years Thomas R. Platt; her four children, Thomas Jr., Steve, Dave, and JoAnne; her sister, Grace Messarge; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She will be remembered and missed by all those that knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian burial at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 901 New Rd., Elsmere, DE, on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday morning, June 21, 2014. Interment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
