FRANCES ROSS

Frances R. Ross Age 84 of Newark, DE passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2001 in the Christiana Hospital. Mrs. Ross worked for several years for the Marshallton School District in the cafeteria. She also worked for Brandywine Nursing Home in the food preparation department and later worked for the Holiday Inn in maid service. Her talents were in her hands. She was a crafted seamstress and an expert at crocheting and needlework. Mrs. Ross was a doll maker. She had made lap robes for the patients at the Veterans Hospital and blankets for the babies at the Door of Hope. She was a member of the Rebekah Assembly since 1978, served as Noble Grand in 1985 for the Orpah Rebekah Lodge #12 and a member of the Daughters of America. Her husband, Earl L. Ross died in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris May Hinton who died February 4, 2001. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Barbara L. Golt of Middletown; and brothers and sister, Ed Turner of OK, Robert Turner of New Castle and Lide Meggison and Ott Turner, both of Wilmington. Also surviving are grandchildren, Willard Hinton, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, Donna Deal and her husband Duane, Sondra L. Harpe and Barbara Ann Hinton; and great grandchildren, Christine L. Harpe, Michael Harpe, Crystal Hinton and Brandon Harpe, Michelle Hinton and Jenna Deal. Her great-great grandchildren, Kiersten L. Priest, Brian Harpe and Jaisman Hinton; step great grandchildren, Diana Ritchie, Penny Murray, Chantelle and Jared Deal; step great-great grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew and Katelyn; and son-in-law, Willard Hinton, Sr. survive as well. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 16, 2001 at 2 pm in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, N. DuPont Hwy., Minquadale. Friends may call at the chapel Monday at 1:15 pm. There will be a Rebekah service at 1:45 pm. Burial will be in the adjoining memorial park. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Frances R.
