Gabriel Markisohn died on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at his home in Middletown, DE.
Gabe was born May 19, 1932 in Budapest, Hungary. A survivor of the Holocaust, Gabe immigrated to the United States in 1947 and lived with a foster family in St. Louis, MO. A Univeresity City High School, Gabe excelled at track and academics that led to a scholarship to attend Princeton University. A member of the graduating class of 1956, he obtained a degree in civil engineering, achieved several honors in track and served as track captain. Gabe pursued his career interests in St. Louis, MO, Orlando, FL, Washington, DC, Ottawa, CN, Wilmington, DE and Indianpolis, IN. The last 25 years of his career were spent as a innovator in the design, construction and management of senior living and nursing home facilities.
Gabe is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terry" Markisohn; his chidlren, Jim, Brad and Kathy and the life partners, Nancy, Debbie and Diane; his 5 grandchildren, Jeremy, Nichole, Sara, Hannah and Jacob; and his borther and sister-in-law, Paul and Elizabeth Markison, and their son, Brian, and his family.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 3rd, in the University Chapel at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributinos may be made to Friends of Princeton Track, Princeton, NJ 08544-5357.
