George Vincent Dennis, Jr.

George Vincent Dennis, Jr., age 75, of Bear, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Mr. Dennis loved to make his wife feel special and never stopped his love, caring and thoughtfulness until the end of his journey. Spending time with his family always came first in his life. Mr. Dennis was a member at Asbury United Methodist Church for 26 years and enjoyed attending the men's meetings on Saturday mornings. He was a good provider and looked for ways to make extra money for his family. He loved to roller skate when he was younger and enjoyed watching roller derby matches. Mr. Dennis was an avid fan of all sports teams. His interests were collecting antiques and other items, dining out, fishing, swimming, and pool parties with the margarita machine.

Mr. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Nancy J. Dennis; sons, George V. Dennis III and wife Lora, William D. Pennington Sr. and wife Bonnie; daughters, Maryann Marvel and husband Randall, Michele Baranowski and husband Michael; sister, June Marie Wilson and husband Charles; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Trudy Dennis; and his parents, George Dennis Sr. and Mary Joseph.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Asbury U.M. Church, 300 East Basin Road, New Castle, DE 19720 from 10am-11am followed by a service in celebration of George's life at 11am. Burial will be private.
