GEORGE SHTOFMAN Obituary
Age 97 of Wilmington, DE died March 18, 2005.
He had been a sports and political reporter for The Journal Every Evening from 1926-1951. He had his late wife, Sylvia, operated a real estate business. He was a member of Congregation Beth Emeth, its building committee, and was past president of its brotherhood. He served as head of the Ingleside Council and published their in-house newspaper. He was such an unbelievable Philadelphia sports teams fan, he was designated Phillies Fan of the Century.
He is survived by his son, Evarett (Joyce); and 2 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2005, at Congregation Beth Emeth, 300 W. Lea Blvd., Wilmington. Interment will be in Beth Emeth Memorial Park on Faulkland Rd. Shiva will be observed at the home of Evarett and Joyce Shtofman, 1912 Brant Rd., North Graylyn Crest.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kutz Home, 704 River Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809; or Hadassah, c/o Eva Weisman, 9 Devon Ct., Wilmington, DE 19810. Arrangements by SCHOENBERG CHAPEL
