Mr. James O. Guetschow, age 62, of Newark, DE, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Christiana Hospital in Newark.
Mr. Guetschow was born in Two Rivers, WI on August 7, 1945, son of the late Arthur Guetschow and Grace Sorenson Guetschow. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, he had been employed with the DuPont Company for the past 40 years. He was currently working as a systems analyst at DuPont's Chambers Works site in Salem County, NJ. With his wife, Mr. Guetschow also owned and operated The Learning Station, a leading educational retail resource in Newark.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia J. Laney Guetschow; son, Jonathan M. Guetschow and wife, Michelle Bickley, of Portland, OR; daughter, Katherine K. Guetschow and husband, Jeff Robinson, of Portland, OR; brother, Robert Guetschow of Minnetonka, MN; sister, Janet Boettcher of Thorntown, IN; sisters-in-law, Carmen Doherty of Lake Geneva, WI; and Fran Laney of Delavan, WI; and granddaughter, Edme I. Guetschow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kappelman.
A memorial service will be held at 4 pm, on Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE.
