Janet Eckman Obituary
Wilmington - Janet passed away from natural causes on April 6, 2021. She was born and lived her nearly 104 years in the Wilmington, Delaware area.
Janet, the eldest of three, was predeceased by her brother George, sister Mabel, and nephew Glenn. She is survived by her nieces Janet McNemar and Lisa Brill grandnieces Elora and Haley, and grandnephews Glenn Jr. and Bradley.
Janet had many friends over the years. She graduated from Goldey Beacom College, spending her working life in the business-secretarial vocation. She worked many years in the ranch, fox hunt, and steeplechase business in the local area.
Janet was President of the Woman's Club of Claymont, and active in the organization for many years. Her interests always put family first and she enjoyed the theater, astrology, gardening, the outdoors, horse racing, Rehoboth Beach, and lunches with friends and family.

I never met her but my wife use to take care of her daily at country house and my wife cried so hard when she passed. If she was still alive I would thank her for the bond that she had with my wife. She wasn’t there when she passed cause it was overnight but it would mean a lot to her if she could pay her condolences. I only met Janet twice, the first time was when she put her home up for sale and the second time when I invited her to my open house which I purchased from Janet.
She was a very nice person and she was the hit of the party. So many of her past neighbors were excited to see her and speak with her about so many things. She was as nice to me as well as her wonderful caring Niece who where so considerate that they brought me the original House Plans. It was so very nice of them, to this day I often think about them and I am happy to be the caretaker of her wonderful home. I have made a number of changes and wished that she could have seen them before her passing, but that was just impossible.
Rest in Peace Janet.
