John A. Faraone

John A. Faraone passed away on August 28, 2020 at the age of 86.

John was born in Wilmington on January 4, 1934, to the late Casto and Grace (Quaranta/Warrant) Faraone. He was the youngest of their six children. John graduated from Salesianum High School in 1951 and attended the University of Delaware on a Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship. He graduated from the University of Maryland Law School in 1962. While in school, he worked as a ballroom dance instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio to help pay for his education. He as admitted to the Delaware Bar in 1963 and practiced law in Wilmington, Delaware for 57 years.

John was a very active and positive person. He was constantly planning for the future and always did his best to help others. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his tremendous generosity to both family and friends. At a young age, he developed a life-long love for golf while working as a caddy. His passion for golf led him to join the Cavaliers Country Club, where he was a member for several decades. Over the years, he faithfully served the club in various capacities, including as counsel, president and member of the board of directors.

John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Constance; daughters, Grace Faraone, Andrea Rhen (Rod), and Christina Corr (Daryl); grandchildren, Hayden Corr, Fiona Corr, Rod Rhen Jr., Ava Rhen, and Janae Rhen; and sister Annabelle Borris.

John was preceded in death by siblings Louis Faraone, Francis Faraone, David Faraone, and Mary Prospero.

John's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate doctors and nurses at St. Francis Hospital.

John was our friend and lawyer for 40+ years. He handled all the settlements for our homes and those of our family. We trusted his advice and he always looked out for our best interest. He was a good man.

I remember Mr. Faraone at Cavaliers Country Club in the 1970's when I was a junior member and the weekend Starter for several years while I was in high school. He nearly always played with Mike Poppiti. John Julian and Vince DiSabatino at 7:00 a.m. and they would set the pace of the course for the day. They played quickly and were usually in the clubhouse by 10:15 a.m. He was always nice to me and I'm sorry to hear he passed away. I wish his family peace during this tough time in their lives.
