Kevin Fahey Obituary
Chadds Ford, PA - Kevin A. Fahey, age 63, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 29th in Christiana Hospital.
Kevin was born and raised in Wilmington where he attended St. Mary Magdalen School. He was a 1972 graduate of Salesianum School and a proud "Salesian gentleman". Kevin attended the University of Delaware and worked in the insurance business throughout his career, most recently for the Lyons Companies and previously for Allstate.
Kevin lived by the motto "simple pleasures for a simple man". He loved his time on the golf course with his friends and brothers, enjoyed his time at the Jersey shore, and, above all else, cherished time spent with his extended family. Sunday family dinners, where Kevin's considerable cooking skills were frequently on display, became a ritual not to be missed and Kevin spent many hours with his nieces and nephews to whom he was known simply as Duke.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Catherine McGettigan; his parents Robert Fahey and Kathleen McGettigan Fahey; his brother Mark and his sister Anne Marie; and his uncles Reverend Monsignor James McGettigan and Jack McGettigan. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda; his brothers Robert and his wife Susan; Brian and his wife Rebeca; and his sister Kathleen Fahey-Hosey and her husband Patrick; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 5th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Road Wilmington, DE 19803. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, January 4th at McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE 19803 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additional parking is available behind the YMCA on Mt. Lebanon Rd. Burial will follow at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Kevin's memory to Salesianum School. Please visit salesianum.org.

Kevin was a great friend of mine for many years. Kevin was a true professional in his work and a great person. Kevin and I worked together in the Hotel and restaurant business.
