Luann Shivone Obituary
Luann Shivone, 56, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on February 9, 2011, at the Christiana Hospital. Born in Wilmington, DE, Luann was the daughter of the late Louis and Ann (Fusco) Shivone.
Luann was a graduate of Brandywine High School and worked at Astra Zeneca as an Administrative Assistant for the past 25 years. She was a member of the Saint John the Beloved Church. Luann loved to spend her vacations at the beach with family and friends. She also loved to play board and card games with her girlfriends. Luann was a loving and caring mother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Louis Shivone and her mother Ann (Fusco) Shivone. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Melissa Schueler, her sister: Denise Leavey and her husband Tom, niece: Kara Leavey, nephew: Tommy Leavey, cousins: F. Edward and Nancy Long, Ronald Long, Sandra and Robert Edens. She is also survived by her best friends: Randy and Debbie Piekarski and their children Raymond and Michael.
Funeral services will be celebrated at 12 pm, on Wednesday February 16, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek where family and friends may visit from 10 am to 12 noon. Burial will follow in the All Saint's Cemetery.
In lieu of flower, contributions may be made in memory of Luann to St. Mark's High School, 2501 Pike Creek Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. To offer online condolences, visit

Dear Melissa, Denise, and family,
I am very sorry for your loss. We feel we have lost a member of the AstraZeneca (AZ) Newark site family as well. I will miss LuAnn's beautiful smile walking down the hallways at AZ and always saying hello.
I started working at AZ in the MFG department just a few months after LuAnn did in 1987 as a Shift Supervisor. LuAnn was always a hard worker and very pleasant to me. We worked hard but we had some good laughs (cherished memories) during those years with the group of Mfg supervisors.
I moved to another department after a few years; however, when I went by LuAnn's office, I would ask her how Melissa was doing. LuAnn would always perk up to tell me how great she was doing. I was so happy for a single mom who had a daughter that was doing so well and made her mom proud.
My thoughts and prayers are with you (Melissa), Denise, and family. May you find peace in God during this difficult time.

Dear Melissa, I remember seeing your mom years ago at cyo basketball games. She was so proud of her daughter and couldn't wait to point you out to me.
