AGE: 65 • Newark
Margaret M. Schmid, "Maggie", 65 of Newark passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Christiana Hospital with her husband, Al by her side.
Maggie was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Dorothy (Pratt) and Willard Sharp. She worked at various positions, but has been a homemaker. Maggie loved doing puzzles, watching Westerns and in earlier years dancing. Never afraid of confrontation, she fought for her life to the last minute. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Sharp and Kathleen Tielleman.
Maggie will be missed by her husband and companion of 33 years, Alexander "Big Al" Schmid; her sisters and their husbands, Patricia Sharp, Marie Pellegrini (Cesidio),Sharon Bendistis (John), Mary Agnes Smallwood (John), Anna Joswick (Gary), Linda Sharp and Joanne Read (Steve); her brothers, Willard, Edward and Mark; her mother-in-law, Margarethe Schmid and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Thursday at 11 AM, where friends may call after 9 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
