Paraskiewicz
Mary Ann Paraskiewicz, age 68, passed peacefully surrounded by her family, on Friday, November 2, 2007.
Mary Ann was born on July 18, 1939 in Shamokin, PA. She moved to Wilmington's HedgevilIe area as a teen. She graduated from St. Elizabeth's Catholic School in 1957. She was a member of St. Hedwig Church, where she married her husband of 49 years, John "Reds" Para-skiewicz. They moved to Stanton and raised their children before retiring to Chesapeake City, MD. Mary Ann enjoyed her time as a cub scout den mother, summers at the beach, watching her children, and grandchildren at their various sporting events: travel, nature, spending time with family, and social events with her club the Red Hat Ladies. First and foremost she was a wife and mother, but was involved in customer service for several banking agencies. She was a past secretary for the board of directors for the Delaware Wildlife Federation.
She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Leona Kutish; her grandson, Benjamin; and her daughter-in-law, Roxanne Paraskiewicz. She is survived by her husband John "Reds" Paraskiewicz; her sons, John Christopher Paraskiewicz and his wife, Debra, and Brian Para-skiewicz (Jeannie Scout); her grandchildren, Brian, J.C., Jacob, and Katey: her friend and caregiver, Elizabeth Morris; and numerous relatives and friends who will remember Mary Ann for her sparkling, and bubbly personality.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Manor Care Pike Creek, and Christiana Hospital 6-E for their compassionate care.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, on Wednesday morning, November 7 2007 at 10 am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, an Tuesday evening, November 6, 2007 from 7-9 pm.
