Michael McGirr Obituary
AGE: 27 •
Michael McGirr, better known as "Mickey", passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 29th. He was 27 years old. His legacy started on December 31, 1988 at Christiana Hospital. His childhood was full of love and laughs; a little boy with a big heart. He graduated in 2006 from Howard High School of Technology from the carpentry shop. He was also a beloved employee of Redners Market in Camden, DE. His many hobbies included cooking, grilling, reading, music, and playing video games. He loved the beach; he would collect seashells to create windchimes and other projects. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Altizer; father, Chad Altizer; sisters, Connie McGirr, Naomi Altizer, and Laura McGirr; brother, Chris McGirr; nephews, Jordan, Zaire, Angelo and Connor; niece, Penelope; grandmother, Catherine Stephens; beloved pets, Shadow, Jesse, and Boo; and countless friends and family.
Funeral services will be held, 12PM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 7-9, Friday evening. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local animal shelter, adopt a pet in his honor, or give to your local homeless shelter.

My heart goes out to the family and friends, there are no words to comfort a family after losing a loved one especially at his young age, God has gained an angel and he will be looking down and keeping you safe until the day you meet again. God bless, love you guys.

I've cried a million tears and I'll cry a million more. A piece of my heart died with you and life will never be the same. I just hope you know how much I love you, I'll never be able to thank you enough for everything you've done for me. Best brother a girl could ever ask for, you can never be replaced.

Hey Mikey (Cookie Dough)! Still tryna wrap my head around this. I miss you man . Gone way too soon but at least I could say you lived a lil while you were here. I swore I seen you today in Redners lol but I see that's my heart wishing you were still there. Best memory I'll have is when you me n my kids went to the buffet to eat and then to chuckee cheese. We had a blast. Your smile was everything. I'd give a million heart beats just to tell you to tighten up again. I love you and may you rest on the biggest cloud
