Nancy Clark Obituary

Nancy A. Clark

Nancy Clark passed on at Christiana hospital surrounded by her loving family, July 21st, 2013.

Nancy was born December 30th, 1958 in Wilmington, DE and was the daughter of the late Albert "Buddy" and Lillian Brawders Clark.

Nancy was a 1976 graduate of Claymont High School and attended the University of Delaware to pursue her career in business.

Words cannot describe her faith and love for her family and friends, they meant everything to her. Nancy always maintained a great sense of humor and had the ability to light up a room even through tough times. The best lesson she taught her family and friends is that each day is a gift and a simple smile and a sincere hello could mean the world to someone to make a difference. Nancy was an angel to us all during her time with us and she will continue to be. She measured her own life by the impact she made on another person's life. Nancy was involved in countless organizations to help others but her true passion was her church, St. Joseph Church in Wilmington.

Everyone is deeply saddened by Nancy's passing and she will be greatly missed. Her adventurous spirit and friendly nature created a tribe and a village of support and love that will always be. We know Nancy will be with us in our hearts forever remembering all of her incredible stories, her beautiful smile, her joyous laughter, and her loving and kind heart. Thank you so much to everyone- you were all her angels!

Nancy's loving family includes her sisters and their families:

Linda MacKenzie, husband Scott, son Ryan with Adrienne and Asher, son Kyle.

Sharon Thornton, husband Michael, son Brendan, daughter Mikayla, daughter Beth Huovinen with Steve, Isabel, and Finley.

Nancy is also survived by an uncle, aunts, and many loving cousins as well as Bella, her beloved Pug.

A very special thanks to the caring staff at the Helen Graham Center and the MICU at Christiana Hospital.

Family and friends may visit with her family from 9-11 am on Friday, July 26 at St. Joseph Church, 1012 N. French St., Wilmington, DE 19801 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment will immediately follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood PA. Due to limited parking at the church, shuttle busses will be provided from the Riverfront parking lot by Iron Hill Brewery, 620 Justison St. There will also be limited parking by the church for only those going to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if any contributions want to be made, Nancy would want it to go to St. Joseph Church at the above address.

My sincere condolences and sympathies to Nancy's family and friends. I was a CHS classmate and despite the years between then and now, I can still see her amazing smile and feel that energy she emanated every time she entered the room. She will be missed but not forgotten.

To all of Nancy's family and friends I wish you peace in knowing Nancy is with her Lord and all family and friends who have gone before her.
It is not for us to know why people we love are taken way before their time.
Nancy will live in your hearts, minds and memories forever. Only time will ease the pain that never truly leaves you.
My deepest sympathies to all as you try to cope with your loss of Nancy's beautiful spirit here on earth.

Dear Linda and Sharon,
I am so saddened to read of Nancy's passing. I was just thinking of you guys as I drove past your old house last Friday. Nancy; like you two and your mom - had that awesome smile and laugh! Nancy always was smiling and giggling! What a joy & honor it is to have grown up with all of you. Nancy was always positive and put everyone first - she brightened up a room and always threw her arms around you to make you feel loved. I will miss her dearly! My love and prayers to you two and your families.
