Nicholas Talmo Obituary
AGE: 95 • Wilmington
Nicholas A. Talmo, Sr., 95, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Mr. Talmo was born in Wilmington on December 31, 1921, the youngest of twelve children of the late Vito and Antoinette Talamo. A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served our country during World War II, having participated in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. Upon his honorable discharge from military service, Mr. Talmo assumed ownership of Talmo's Café on Lincoln Street in Wilmington's Little Italy, and operated the business for 40 years until his retirement in 1986.
Mr. Talmo was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed gardening and cooking. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, the VFW Durney Post, and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
His beloved wife of 59 years, Catherine (Parisi) Talmo, passed away on February 27, 2007.
Mr. Talmo will be dearly missed by his children, Victor A. Talmo, Anna Marie Bartling and husband, Patrick, and Nicholas A. Talmo, Jr. and wife, Nancy; his grandchildren, Brian P. Bartling, Kathryn M. Bartling, Nicholas J. Talmo (Theresa), and Steven V. Talmo. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Talamo (Hazel); his sister-in-law, Katie Talmo; many nieces, nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Albert, John, James, Victor, Ralph, Anthony, and Frank; his sisters, Annie Troise, Carrie Agostini, and Florence Dominick.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, September 7 from 10:30AM-12:00PM. A Catholic funeral service will begin at 12:00PM. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Talmo may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 2503 Centerville Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.

Condolences to the entire Talmo family. I grew up on Lincoln Street just a few doors from Talmo's Cafe in Wilmington's Little Italy. I have great memories of those days. All of the Talmos were/are great people.
