Orlando DeCecchis Obituary
AGE: 86 • Wilmington
Orlando Franklin (Ty) DeCecchis, age 86, of Wilmington, DE formerly of Portland Mills, PA, passed away on March 23, 2015 at his home.
Ty was born in 1928 to Thomas DeCecchis and Ruth Jefferson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 10 years. In 1987, Ty retired from DuPont Chambers Works after 25 years of service as a welder.
Ty was predeceased by his son, James T. DeCecchis; brothers, Howard and Joseph; sisters, Onerina, Edna and Gilberta; and brother-in-law, Bill. He is survived by his wife, Sara Gallo DeCecchis; son, Steven P. (Linda); daughter, Susan D. Hertsenberg (Dale); daughter, Lynne D. Beadle (Tim); seven grandchildren, Sean P. (Josie) and Scott P. (Cara) DeCecchis; Jamee L. and Matthew C. Hertsenberg, Christopher W., Jessica L. and Marissa A. Beadle; brother-in-law, Louis M. Gallo; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 am on Saturday March 28, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington. Friends and family may visit on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:45 am at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Interment will be private.
